Join TCVA During Fall Art Crawls on September 4, October 2, & November 6 and December 4 for Drop-In Artmaking
Drop-in Artmaking invites visitors of all ages to use the Turchin Center’s Moskowitz Artmaking Space and experiment with different mediums. These sessions are student-led, informal, and designed for anyone who wants a place to create. Bring a friend or come on your own and enjoy the spirit of co-creativity! No experience necessary and all materials provided.
–Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
About the InstructorsÂ
Dora Hagaman: A senior at Appalachian State University majoring in Art Management with a minor in Non-Profit Management, Dora Hagaman draws profound inspiration from her roots in Boone. As a fiber artist and developing painter, her creative work often celebrates her love for crochet, flowers, and local agriculture. Dora seeks to give back to the Watauga community that raised her by fostering connections through art and local engagement. Before joining the Turchin Center team, she gained valuable experience as an intern at the Blowing Rock Art and History Museum. Her work has been showcased at the Looking Glass Gallery and featured in The Peel Literature & Arts Review.Â
Emily Suit: An aspiring artist pursuing a BFA in Photography at Appalachian State University. Growing up on the coast of North Carolina, they spent much of their childhood outdoors—an influence that continues to shape their practice. Often rooted in nature, sustainability, and connectivity, their pieces are often meant to feel like a memory or a thought at the tip of your tongue, something to constantly unravel.
