Education
The Turchin Center offers a variety of exhibitions, programs and services that provide opportunities for visitors to learn about the arts and the world around them. Educators are welcomed to use the Turchin Center as a resource in their classrooms. Workshops are geared to artists of all ages and levels and outreach provides opportunities for groups in the community.
Exhibition Guides
Exhibition guides are a comprehensive visitor resource that provides insight into the exhibitions in the galleries. They can be used in conjunction with a visit to the galleries or for those who are visiting remotely, as a guide for independent study. Guides are available for both current and past exhibitions.
Students & Faculty
Interaction with the arts at the Turchin Center provides education and enrichment to students, faculty and staff across university departments. Galleries, workshops and events provide valuable research and skill development opportunities.
K-12 Educators
The Turchin Center offers tours and programming opportunities that spark creativity and inspire a love of learning for new generations.
Community Programming
The Turchin Center is an important resource for the community and creates unique experiences to interact with the arts both in the galleries and throughout the community.
ARTtalks / Artist’s Showcase Series
ARTtalks are talks led by visiting or exhibiting artists, scholars and practitioners. These talks provide deeper insight into creative practice, context for current exhibitions or contemporary issues shaping the world in which art is created, experienced and interpreted.
The Artist Showcase Series is part of An Appalachian Summer Festival and features interesting and informative virtual programming that provides a behind-the-scenes view of the festival’s offerings in the visual arts, music, theater and dance.
