July First Friday ART CRAWL | Summer Exhibition Celebration

Thailand 2025 (1920 x 1080 px) (4)

Join us at the Turchin Center on Thursday, July 3, from 5–8 PM for a special Summer Exhibition Celebration as part of Boone’s First Friday Art Crawl and An Appalachian Summer! We’re thrilled to debut Threading: Contemporary Art of Thailand, a vibrant textile-based exhibition exploring cultural connections and creative traditions from Southeast Asia.

Join us at 5pm for a special ARTtalk from Kelsey Merreck Wagner, where she will discuss her artist’s residency at the Jim Thompson Farm in the Pak Thong Chai District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, Thailand in 2024. Wagner will discuss a selection of the exhibiting artists in Threading: Contemporary Art of Thailand, on view at the Turchin Center July 3-Dec 6.

From 6–7:45PM, enjoy live music from The Kraut Creek Ramblers, whose old-time Appalachian sound is the perfect tribute to Image and Music: John Cohen, one of our featured exhibitions. (Fun fact: Cohen was a founding member of The New Lost City Ramblers and recorded 15 albums on the legendary Folkways label!)

Art, culture, and community converge for this unforgettable summer evening—free and open to all!
