Pieces of the Puzzle: 2014-2015 Educational Outreach Program of TCVA

March 6, 2015 – June 6, 2015(This exhibition has passed.)

Pieces of the Puzzle features works of art that have been created by participants who have been involved in the center’s Education Outreach Programs. This exhibit celebrates the process of art making, of free play in a safe, supportive environment that invites participants to respond to color, texture and design in the world around them. Experience what happens when participants of all ages let go of the voice that says “but I am not an artist” and allow their creative spirits to soar.

Work from the following workshops and programs will be exhibited:

  • Blazing Easels Kids Workshop
  • The Artist Within: Watauga County Elementary Schools
  • Out of the Box
  • Inkalicious
  • Healing Arts at the Hospitality House
  • Young at Art
  • Beyond the Walls: Watauga Opportunities
  • Western Watauga Community Center
  • Western Watauga Youth Network
  • Tuesdays at Turchin Painting Class for Appalachian State University students

About the Education Outreach Program

The Education Outreach Program offers arts enrichment opportunities to underserved populations in the High Country and to provide opportunities for children and adults in the community to receive quality instruction from regional artists through classes offered at the Turchin Center. Throughout the year, the Turchin Center offers workshops for participants to explore their creativity through various artistic outlets.

The Education Outreach Program is led by Pegge Delaney Laine.
