Olivia Mae Pendergast, also known as Holly, is a native of nearby Sugar Grove, where she grew up on a small farm, encouraged by her parents to develop her artistic skills. An alumnae of Columbus College of Art and Design’s Illustration program, Pendergast spent five years as a conceptual designer working in the LA film industry. She currently lives in Seattle, Washington where she now paints full time.
A recent, four-month visit to Malawi, a densely populated, rural nation in southeast Africa, inspired Pendergast to develop a suite of large-format, figurative paintings, presented for the first time to the public by the Turchin Center.
