Let your creativity flow!

Drop-in Artmaking offers a relaxed, welcoming space to experiment with art materials and explore your creativity. Sessions take place in the Moskowitz Gallery on Fridays and in Room 3002 on Saturdays, and everyone is invited—no matter your experience level.

Workshops are led by Appalachian State University student instructors Zoe Efthymiou and Finn Jones. All workshops are FREE and open to Appalachian State University students, staff and faculty members and community members.

Educational programming is brought to you in part by the generous support of the Tina Silverstein Opportunity Fund.

About the Instructors

Zoe Efthymiou

Zoe Efthymiou is a mixed‑media artist from Charlotte, NC, currently studying Art Management at Appalachian State University. Her creative practice spans makeup, collage, drawing, and painting, often drawing inspiration from television and dreamlike imagery. She’s eager to give back to her community through this internship and to bring the skills she’s developed in college into a professional environment.

Finn Jones, originally from Halifax County, NC, is pursuing a degree in Special Education at Appalachian State University. His artwork centers on themes of mental health and neurodiversity, aiming to help others feel understood and represented. Working in mixed media, Finn incorporates scrapbooking, painting, spray paint, paint markers, colored pencils, and 3D elements into his pieces. His work has been featured in the Scholastic Art Fair and the Cary Gallery of Artists, and he has also sold pieces at an art market. A highlight of his early career was receiving the Susan Ellis Roberts Art Scholarship upon graduating from Green Level High School.
