Create bright colorful abstract and impressionistic watercolors on yupo, a synthetic substrate while having fun and stretch the muscles of your imagination.
Please Note: This workshop requires a minimum of 6 participants.
- Large sheets of Yupo paper (22X26)
- Palette with a clean mixing area
- Transparent watercolors in a tube (bring whatever colors you have)
- 2” w/c brush
- ½ or ¾ flat w/c brush
- spray bottle
- a small sponge paint roller
- large container for water
- paper towels
- masking fluid
- old tooth brush
About the instructor
A devotee of transparent watercolor, Anne Welch is especially drawn to the intricate designs found in organic subjects which she portrays with texture, dynamic design and bold color. Welch moved to Lenoir, NC in 2008 after spending the previous 10 years in Florida. She is an active member of the High Country Water Media Society in Boone, the Brush and Palette Club in Lenoir and a co-founder of Studio 12, a critique group in Lenoir. Her art has won awards at the Caldwell County Arts Council, the Broyhill Conference Center at Appalachian State University and at the Jones House in Boone. Her paintings are also displayed in private collections in Florida, Tennessee, Arizona and Idaho.
