An ongoing open studio experience that explores the magic of alcohol inks. Experienced inkers and novices alike play with the vibrant medium, often finding success as they explore new ways of creating art. There is a fun intergenerational aspect to the class when Appalachian students attend, bringing laughter and music.

About the instructor

Pegge Laine is the Community Outreach Coordinator for the Turchin Center and brings a wealth of experience to her work in community arts engagement and outreach. Having completed a thirty-year career in education and counseling in North Carolina, Pegge returned to Appalachian State University for a certification in Expressive Arts. She is certified with the International Expressive Arts Therapy Association as a registered Expressive Arts Consultant Educator. Pegge is passionate about coordinating arts experiences for the community and believes that participation in the arts, enriches, transforms and heals. She strives to create a sense of community with her students and help them develop an appreciation of cultural and social diversity.

Adults and students, age 17+
$15 per session for community members (+$5 supply fee if TCVA supplies are used); Class is free for Appalachian students and all supplies are provided.
