Dances of Universal Peace: Body Prayer, Meditation in Movement (Appalachian Students & Community)

The Dances of Universal Peace are simple, joyous circle and partner dances that use sacred phrases and chants from many spiritual traditions. Live music and movements help us touch the spiritual essence within ourselves and recognize it in others. There are no performers or audience. No dance or vocal experience is needed. Each dance is taught. Beginners and old-timers are all welcome. Open to students and community members.

Healing Arts Yoga (Adults)

Join yoga instructor, Angie Forest, on Saturdays for an 1-hour yoga session in our Art Gallery in downtown Boone. All skill levels are welcome and mats can be provided if you don't own one.

Inkalicious: Alcohol Inks (Adults)

Come join the fun as you explore the wonderful world of alcohol inks with folks who participated in the App Summer workshop. This is an open studio opportunity with no direct instruction. Everyone is available to inspire and share ideas with one another.

Mandalas and Moon Journals (Appalachian Students & Community)

A Mandala Moon Journal is a container in which you document your emotions throughout the phase of one moon cycle. As the moon waxes and wanes you are invited to document how your emotions ebb and flow through words and mandalas.

Explore the world of texture, color and design. Play with paint, collage, pastels, pen and ink with Wanda Ortiz and Shauna Caldwell. Rediscover your creative spirit in a community of peers as you explore different mediums in an inviting space.

Community adults

A new opportunity for artists at any level to work in the community. Bring your own supplies paint, collage, charcoal, fabric, paint, inks, alcohol inks and be inspired by one another on the second Friday of each month.

Tai Chi (Adults)

Participants will engage in a series of very specific integrated postures in fluid sequence—that today is practiced as a graceful form of exercise.
