Turchin Center Wins Creative Awards from NCMC

Representatives from the Turchin Center for the Visual Arts staff attended the 2011 North Carolina Museums Council Annual Conference March 20-21 where they were awarded two creative awards for their publications.

The 24th Rosen Sculpture Catalog received the award for Best Exhibition Catalog and the Turchin Center for the Visual Arts/Performing Arts Series Brochure won for Best Seasonal Brochure.

Congratulations to the University Communication and Turchin Center staff members for their hard work!

In addition, the Turchin Center had the most student attendees at the conference from the entire state. A gift to the center was used to provide scholarships for five students to attend the conference for educational and networking opportunities.  The scholarship covered all conference fees and trip expenses during the North Carolina Museums Council Conference.  The students invoved were: Kenneth Grier, Tricia Cooke, Katie Ericson, Carter Harris, and Ben Jackson. Dianna Loughlin and Sarah Young traveled with the group from the ASU's Arts Management Organization Club.

About the Conference

The 2011 North Carolina Museums Council Annual Conference: Engaged on all Fronts: New Challenges, New Skills focused on new skills and new strategies for making museums successful in today’s challenging environment. The conference was  an action packed two-day event centered in downtown Greensboro during March 20-21st, 2011.
