Shooting Stars is an annual event that highlights performing and visual artists from the Watauga County Public Schools. This competitive event provides a unique opportunity to raise funds for the the Watauga Education Foundation (WEF), and to provide an extraordinary educational opportunity to the students and a cultural experience for the community.

The Watauga Education Foundation is a public, non-profit organization whose mission is to advocate for the investment of private and public resources into the public school system of Watauga County. The foundation supports projects and ideas that will benefit students, improve graduation rates, support the arts and other enrichment activities, support teacher initiatives, provide scholarships, and increase public participation in the schools.
