These sessions are student-led\, informal\, and designed for anyone who wants a place to create. Bring a friend or come on your own and enjoy the spirit of co-creativity! No experience necessary and all materials provided. \n–Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. \n  \n \nABOUT EMILY\nEmily Suit is an artist pursuing a BFA in Photography at Appalachian State University. Growing up on the coast of North Carolina\, they spent much of their childhood outdoors—an influence that continues to shape their practice. Often rooted in nature\, sustainability\, and connectivity\, their pieces are often meant to feel like a memory or a thought at the tip of your tongue\, something to constantly unravel.   The Turchin Center welcomes Emily as an Intern for summer 2026\, leading Drop-In Artmaking and Guided Gallery Tours. \n

The celebration will feature two gallery talks exploring Stitching the Natural World and belonging to place: The Creative Community & Artistic Legacy of bell hooks\,  live music by Trevor McKenzie\, a visit from Local Roots WNC food truck at the bottom of the stairs\, childhood nostalgia from Little Cloud Cotton Candy\, complimentary hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. Celebrate the arts with the Turchin Center and enjoy all Boone has to offer! \nThe Summer Exhibition Celebration is a part of An Appalachian Summer Festival programming.
