Steamroller Print Fest

Print Fest! is a large–format, steamroller woodblock printing spectacle with a variety of printmaking kiosks, food trucks, music, and more! There will be kids activities, screen printing, woodblock and lino block printing, letterpress printing, 3D printing, tintype portraits, and printed t–shirts. This event is free and open to the public!

Tintype portraits and printed t–shirts will be available for purchase. Bring a t–shirt or buy one on site. All proceeds from these sales will benefit the Art Department’s Print Club, AIGA (the Graphic Design Club), Studio Art Photography area programming, as well as travel–related scholarships.

Print Fest! is a large-format, steam-roller woodblock printing spectacle, with a variety of printmaking kiosks, food trucks, music and more! There will be screen printing, wood and linoleum block printing, 3D printing, CNC engraving, tintype portraits, buttons made from tiny prints, printed t-shirts and a kids print-stamping booth. Tintype portraits and printed t-shirts are available for purchase (bring a t-shirt, or buy one on site). There will also be raffles throughout the day with chances to win some cool, print-themed prizes. All proceeds from print-related sales will benefit the Art Department's Print Club, Studio Art Photography Area programming, AIGA/Graphic Design, and travel-related scholarships. Learn more

The gallery talk is followed by First Friday at the Turchin Center which is part of the Downtown Boone Art Crawl. Residents, visitors and the Appalachian State University community are invited to the Turchin Center to experience the exhibitions featured in seven galleries. The event includes refreshments, a cash bar and live music by Nate Harris. This event is free and open to the public! Learn more

Printmaking Workshop

Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018 / 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
130 Wey Hall (Print Shop)

John Amoss from the University of North Georgia will lead printmaking students in a Japanese-style Mokuhanga woodcut workshop.

Printmaking workshops are open to Appalachian State University students. The public is welcome to come in and observe but space is limited. Email to register or for questions about the workshop. Learn more
