The New River Conservancy (NRC) envisions a completely healthy New River Watershed where people want to live, work and play. NRC believes that clean water, healthy land and empowered people benefit both the watershed (all the streams, and brooks that feed the river as well as the forests and fields) and the communities that surround it.
About the TCVA Lecture Series
The Turchin Center Lectures Series are talks led by visiting or exhibiting artists, scholars and practitioners. These talks provide deeper insight into creative practice, context for current exhibitions or contemporary issues shaping the world in which art is created, experienced and interpreted.
Partnering with the Center for Appalachian Studies, Tom Hansell’s graduate seminar, Sustainability and the Arts in Appalachia, and New River Conservancy, the Turchin Center for the Visual Arts has invited regional artists to participate in an exhibition to showcase the headwaters of the New River.
Exhibition dates: Friday, February 3, 2017 - Saturday, July 29, 2017
